Honoring Gay McPhail Through Paddle for Life
We are honored to celebrate the life and legacy of Gay McPhail, a cherished member of our paddling ‘ohana, who passed away on December 30, 2024. Gay’s love for the ocean and unwavering spirit continue to inspire, and her impact lives on through the community she loved. In her honor, friends and family have come together to raise over $10,000 toward Paddle for Life, ensuring that cancer patients in Hawai‘i receive the care and support they need. This incredible generosity reflects the power of community and the deep connections that bring us all together in times of challenge and hope. To everyone who has contributed—mahalo nui loa. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of those facing cancer.
For 35 years, Gay found joy, strength, and connection in the ocean—paddling alongside teammates, embracing every crossing, and giving her heart to the sport she loved. It is only fitting that her legacy continues through Paddle for Life, a journey that brings people together in the spirit of healing and resilience.
Save the Date! Our 16th Annual Paddle for Life fundraiser returns on October 4-5, 2025, and registration opens this spring. For more information, visit www.paddleforlifemaui.org
